News: Car accident in Kansas City leaves driver dead, 2 passengers injured

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police were called to the scene of a deadly car accident in Kansas City on Wednesday, reports the Kansas City Star.

 

The wreck took place near the intersection of Prospect Avenue and 63rd Street sometime before 5 p.m.

 

An initial investigation by the Kansas City Police Department found that the driver of a Lincoln sedan was traveling south on Prospect Avenue at a high rate of speed and struck an SUV turning left out of a parking garage. The Lincoln then went off the roadway and crashed into a tree.

 

The sedan driver, whose name was not immediately released, died at the scene. Two passengers in the vehicle were taken to the hospital in critical condition but later were reported in serious condition. The other driver was not injured.
