News: Blue Springs man seriously injured when car hits barrier on I-470

JACKSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a single-vehicle accident in Jackson County on Monday morning sent a driver to the hospital.

 

The victim was driving a 2014 Buick LaCrosse on Interstate 470 eastbound in Lee’s Summit when the incident happened at 7:44 a.m.

 

State troopers said the motorist, identified as 53-year-old Preston Redwood of Blue Springs, Missouri, drove off the left side of the road at Pryor Road and struck the median barrier. Redwood was transported by Lee’s Summit EMS to Centerpoint Hospital with serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident, according to the MSHP.

 

The Buick was totaled and towed away from the scene.
