SALINE COUNTY, MO – Five people were injured in a single-vehicle rollover accident in Saline County on Monday night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The MSHP’s crash report said the incident happened on 170th Trail east of Route E at 9:15 p.m.
State troopers said a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am heading eastbound crossed over Route E and went airborne. The car hit the ground, slid on the gravel roadway and went off the road. It then overturned and struck a tree before coming to rest on its top.
One passenger, 19-year-old Danasia Hammer of Marshall, Missouri, was seriously injured and airlifted to University Hospital. The driver, 20-year-old Lelia Horelka of Marshall, and three other passengers, ages 18, 17 and 15, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital by Saline County EMS. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
