News: 3 injured, 1 seriously, in 2-car crash in SE KC

KANSAS CITY, MO – Three people were injured, one of them seriously, when two cars collided at an intersection in southeastern Kansas City on Sunday evening, KSHB reports.

At about 6:15 p.m. yesterday, a Toyota Corolla headed north on Raytown Road ran a red light at the intersection with 47th Street and collided with a Ford Edge that was turning left at a green light. A passenger in the Toyota who had not been wearing a seatbelt was seriously hurt, while two teenaged occupants received minor injuries.

Authorities believe the Toyota was speeding at the time of the collision.
