KANSAS CITY, MO – A fatal collision that occurred in south Kansas City last month has claimed the life of a second victim, the Kansas City Star reports.
The incident took place July 11 at Blue Ridge Boulevard and Eastern Avenue at about 4:41 p.m. A police investigation determined that the driver of a Subaru Forester was heading north on Eastern Avenue and entered the intersection from a stop sign. The Subaru struck a Dodge Dakota that was headed south on Blue Ridge Boulevard. The Dodge hit a curb, struck a metal light pole, and then overturned.
The passenger in the front seat of the Dodge died at the scene. The driver of the Dodge was hospitalized with critical injuries for the past several weeks, and was pronounced dead on Thursday afternoon. The identities of the two victims have not yet been released.
The driver of the Subaru and a passenger in the back seat were not injured.
