JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – Two drivers were injured when their vehicles were involved in a collision in Johnson County on Thursday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
The crash happened at about 4:45 p.m. in the area of Missouri Highway FF and U.S. 50. The MSHP said the driver of a 2011 GMC was headed southbound when she pulled across the roadway. The GMC collided with a 2021 Ford Explorer going west. The impact caused the GMC to go off the roadway and come to a stop in a ditch.
The Ford driver, a 59-year-old woman from Blue Springs, Missouri, and the driver of the GMC, a 22-year-old woman from Knob Noster, Missouri, were both seriously injured and taken to Research Medical Center for treatment. They were both wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck.
