JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – State troopers responded to the scene of a crash in Johnson County early Tuesday morning that sent two people to the hospital.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s accident report, the single-vehicle wreck occurred on U.S. 50 at NW 821s Road at about 1:36 a.m.
The MSHP said the driver of a 2014 Kia Sportage was heading westbound when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, became airborne, and overturned.
The driver, a 47-year-old man, and his passenger, a 23-year-old man, suffered moderate injuries. Both are from Pleasant Hill, Missouri. The two were transported by ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. They were both wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
State troopers were assisted in their response and investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.
