KANSAS CITY, MO – A collision in Kansas City involving two pickup trucks left two people dead, KSHB reports.
The accident took place Monday afternoon along Interstate 70 westbound in the Benton Curve. Police said the driver of a Dodge Ram was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic at about 2:20 p.m. while headed west. The vehicle crashed into a westbound Chevrolet Silverado, causing the Dodge driver to lose control.
The Dodge went off the interstate and rolled over multiple times. The driver and passenger were both ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said either victim was wearing a seat belt.
I-70 was shut down for over three hours while the wreck was being cleared.
