News: 2 critically injured when vehicle crashes into Brush Creek in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – A high-speed car wreck in Kansas City on Sunday morning left two people critically injured, the Kansas City Star reported.

Kansas City Fire Department crews arrived in the vicinity of Ward Parkway and Brush Creek Parkway at about 2 a.m. and found that a sedan had crashed into Brush Creek.  An initial investigation indicated that the driver was heading west on Ward Parkway at a high rate of speed and was not able to negotiate a curve in the roadway at the intersection.

The vehicle went over a guardrail and plunged into the creek, where it landed upside down.  Two people were pulled from the vehicle with what reported as life-threatening injuries, and were rushed to an area hospital.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Kansas City Police Department.
