LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MO – Two vehicles were involved in a fatal crash on a slick roadway in Lafayette County Friday evening, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The MSHP said the driver of a 2009 Ford Focus was heading south on U.S. 65 at about 6:30 p.m. when she lost control on the ice-covered roadway. The car crossed over the center line and struck a northbound 2021 Ford Explorer head-on.

The four people in the Explorer, all from Chillicothe, Missouri, were transported to Carroll County Memorial Hospital. The driver, a 32-year-old woman, and a passenger, a 35-year-old man, suffered moderate injuries. Two children, a 4-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries. All four were wearing their seat belts in the car.
