LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MO – A single-vehicle wreck in Lafayette County early Saturday morning left a passenger dead, according to a KCTV report.
The crash, which involved a 2007 Toyota Tundra, occurred along Interstate 70 east of Higginsville. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the vehicle was headed west on I-70 and went off the left side of the roadway around mile marker 51. The Toyota hit a ditch before coming to a stop.
The passenger, a 43-year-old man, died at the scene. The driver, an 18-year-old man, was seriously injured and transported to Centerpoint Medical Center. The two, both residents of Antioch, California, were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
