KANSAS CITY, MO – An accident in Kansas City claimed the life of a truck driver on Wednesday morning, Fox 4 KC reported.
Police investigators said the driver of a tractor-trailer was heading north on Interstate 435 from Eastwood Trafficway when the incident took place near Sni-A-Bar Road shortly after 6 a.m.
It was reported that the driver was weaving between two lanes of traffic, then lost control and crashed into a concrete pole that was holding up an overhead highway sign.
The driver, whose identity was not released, suffered fatal injuries.
The incident shut down I-435 north for about two hours while emergency crews and investigators worked the scene, causing traffic delays along the interstate.
