News: Passenger seriously injured after pickup crashes into guardrail on I-635

PLATTE COUNTY, MO – A woman was injured in a single-vehicle wreck in Platte County on Saturday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

 

According to the MSHP’s crash log, troopers responded to the scene on Interstate 635 in the area of Missouri 9 at 4:19 p.m.   They learned that the driver of a 2004 Toyota Tacoma, a 50-year-old man from Gig Harbor, Washington, was heading north when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a guardrail.

 

A passenger in the vehicle, a 42-year-old woman from Gig Harbor, was seriously injured and was transported to North Kansas City Hospital.  She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, the MSHP said.

 

No other injuries were reported.
