HENRY COUNTY, MO – State troopers were dispatched to a rollover accident that injured a woman and a toddler in Henry County on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened at about 12 p.m. on Route HH east of SW 1201 Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The MSHP’s crash report states that the driver of a 2004 Volvo C70 was heading eastbound when she failed to maintain the right half of the road. The vehicle went off the north side of the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned onto its roof in a cornfield.
The driver, a 19-year-old woman, was ejected from the Volvo. She was seriously injured and was airlifted to Research Hospital. Her passenger, a 2-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries and was released to her grandmother. The two are from Clinton, Missouri.
Troopers said the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but the child was wearing a safety device. The highway patrol was assisted at the scene by the Henry County Sheriff’s Department and the Montrose Fire Department.
