News: Collision on US 50 in Johnson County sends 3 women to hospital

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said three people were injured when their vehicles collided in Johnson County on Thursday afternoon.

The wreck happened along US 50 eastbound at Route D, according to the MSHP’s crash report.

State troopers said the driver of a 2007 Dodge stopped in the left lane of US 50 at about 4:35 p.m., waiting to turn at a crossover that was occupied by another vehicle. The driver of a 2016 Ford overtook and struck the Dodge.

The driver of the Ford, 18-year-old Faith Lewis of Sedalia, Missouri and her passenger, 49-year-old Sondra Sigmund of Warrensburg, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries. The driver of the Dodge, 20-year-old Eryn Barr of Warrensburg, sustained minor injuries. All three were transported by ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.

The three women were all wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, the MSHP said.
