News: 2 drivers hospitalized following collision on I-470 southbound

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – Authorities said two drivers were injured when their vehicles collided in Jackson County early Tuesday morning.

 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Interstate 470 southbound at mile marker 10 at about 5 a.m.

 

Troopers said 42-year-old Nicole Alley of Independence was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi that was stopped in the center lane of the interstate. Her vehicle was then struck by a 2004 Honda driven by 35-year-old Pedro Bonilla of Los Angeles.

 

Alley suffered what were described as moderate injuries, while Bonilla sustained minor injuries. Both were transported by the Lee’s Summit Fire Department to Research Hospital.

 

The MSHP was assisted at the accident scene by the Lee’s Summit Police Department.
