News: Man arrested in Kansas City hit-and-run crash that killed woman

KANSAS CITY, MO – A man is under arrest in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Kansas City on September 17, 2021, according to KCTV and WIBW.

 

24-year-old Arnold King was wanted for the crash that occurred in the area of East 12th Street and Bales Avenue sometime before 6:19 a.m. Police said King’s SUV ran a stop sign while headed south on Bales Avenue and struck a Hyundai driven by 31-year-old Valeria Villa-Alvarado. Villa-Alvarado was pronounced dead at the scene while her two daughters, ages 10 and 4, were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.

 

Police said King and a woman inside his vehicle took off from the scene on foot after the accident.  King has now been taken into custody and faces several charges, including vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
