BLUE SPRINGS, MO – A car crash in Jackson County on Thursday night claimed the life of a motorist, state troopers said.
A report by KSHB states that the incident happened on East Pink Hill Road near South Slaughter Road north of Blue Springs at about 8:45 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a woman was driving a 2015 Lincoln MKZ southbound when the vehicle went off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The driver, identified as 35-year-old Stephanie Burks of Blue Springs, was killed in the wreck. The MSHP said she was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
State troopers were assisted at the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and the Blue Springs Police Department.
