KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police are trying to track down the driver involved in a fatal accident earlier this month, according to the Little Apple Post.
The incident happened Oct. 21 in the area of Truman Road and U.S. 71 Highway shortly before 10 p.m. Investigators said the driver of a Ford Edge was traveling west on Truman Road and failed to yield while turning left onto 71 Highway. An eastbound dirt bike struck the front left of the Ford Edge. The bike rider, identified as 19-year-old Joshua Thomas Matthias of the Kansas City area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford left the scene without stopping to help. Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver and the vehicle, which is described as a pewter color 2011-2014 Ford Edge with damage to the front left bumper and a missing fog lamp.
