News: Driver dies after crashing into tree near Brush Creek in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – A driver died following a single-vehicle accident on Monday night, according to Kansas City police.

 

WDAF reports the incident occurred on Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard near Brush Creek at about 8:45 p.m.

 

An investigation indicated that the motorist was traveling south at a high rate of speed when the vehicle went off the roadway, through a grassy median, and crashed into a tree.

 

The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured. The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, police said.

 

Kansas City police report this was the city’s 100th crash-related fatality in 2023, an increase from 84 at this time a year ago.
