PETTIS COUNTY, MO – An accident involving a utility terrain vehicle in Pettis County Sunday afternoon left one child dead and three others injured.
A crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol stated that the incident happened on Liberty School Road just after 4:30 p.m.
State troopers said 34-year-old April Headley of Sedalia, Missouri was driving the UTV through a yard when she made a sharp left turn, causing the vehicle to overturn.
A 4-year-old boy was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a safety device at the time. Two girls, ages 6 and 7, and a 3-year-old boy sustained minor injuries and were taken to Bothwell Hospital. All the children were from Sedalia.
