INDEPENDENCE, MO – Authorities were called to the scene of a deadly wreck involving a wrong-way driver in Independence early Tuesday morning, KSHB reported.
Police said a driver was going in the wrong direction on Interstate 70 westbound near Noland Road just before 12:30 a.m.
That motorist reportedly caused several crashes, involving three vehicles and a semi-truck. One person was killed while two others were injured.
The westbound lanes of I-70 were shut down at Noland Road for about seven hours while the police department’s Accident Investigation Team processed the scene. Drivers were advised to use 40 Highway as an alternate route.
