PLEASANT HILL, MO – A collision in Jackson County on Sunday morning left one person dead and four others injured, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The three-vehicle wreck happened on Missouri 7 at the junction with Missouri 150 east about 9:15 a.m.
The MSHP’s investigation found that the driver of a westbound 2012 Nissan Juke failed to yield at the intersection and struck the passenger side of a 2019 GMC Savannah 3500. The GMC then hit the front of a 2013 Subaru Outback, causing it to overturn.
The driver of the GMC, identified as 63-year-old Mark Fields of Independence, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Subaru, 54-year-old Stephen Longmeyer, and two passengers, 53-year-old Ormthip Longmeyer and 21-year-old Julia Longmeyer, were seriously injured and taken to Centerpoint Medical Center. The three are from Pleasant Hill, Missouri. The driver of the Nissan, 20-year-old Jenna Marconett of Pleasant Hill, was transported to Research Medical Center with serious injuries.
All three vehicles involved were totaled and towed away from the scene.
