JACKSON COUNTY, MO – Two drivers were hospitalized after their vehicles collided on Interstate 70 in Jackson County on Monday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported details of the crash, which occurred at 10:06 a.m. on I-70 westbound, just west of Adams Dairy Parkway.
According to the MSHP, the driver of a 2008 Lexus struck the concrete barrier, began to skid, and hit a 2014 Ford Focus. The Focus then struck the concrete barrier, returned to the roadway, and entered the path of the Lexus, which then struck the Ford again.
The Lexus driver, a 97-year-old man from Blue Springs, Missouri, and the Ford driver, a 54-year-old Blue Springs man, both suffered minor injuries. The two, who were both wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, were transported to Centerpoint Medical Center.
Their vehicles were totaled and removed from the scene by tow crews.
