KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people were injured in a vehicle collision in Kansas City, Missouri on Sunday afternoon, police said.
A report by KSHB states that two vehicles crashed in the area of Truman Road and Askew Avenue at about 5:44 p.m.
A preliminary investigatin by police determined that the driver of a Toyota Highlander was traveling east on Truman Road and tried to make a left turn onto Askew Avenue. At the same time, a Dodge Dart was headed west on Truman Road and crashed into the Toyota as that vehicle was turning.
The driver and passenger in the Toyota were critically injured and taken to an area hospital. The Dodge driver was not seriously hurt.
Police are investigating whether speed or impairment were contributing factors in the wreck.
