JOHNSON COUNTY, M0 – A driver was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Johnson County early Saturday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
State troopers were dispatched to the scene on U.S. 50 west of NW 250th Road at about 2:22 a.m. They learned that the driver of a 2017 GMC Sierra was heading eastbound and travelled off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a sign and a tree.
The driver, a 38-year-old man from Warrensburg, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene. It was not known whether he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
The MSHP was assisted in its investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.
