News: Wrong-way collision on East 12th Street leaves 2 critically injured

KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people were hospitalized following a wrong-way collision in Kansas City early Saturday morning, police said.

 

KCTV reported the crash occurred on East 12th Street west of Van Brunt Boulevard at about 1:43 a.m. According to investigators, the driver of a Chevrolet Impala was going at high speed while traveling west in the eastbound lanes of 12th Street. The Impala collided with an eastbound Kia Spectra.

 

A front seat passenger in the Impala was hospitalized in critical condition, while a front seat passenger in the Spectra was also taken to the hospital in what was reported to be very critical condition.

 

The two drivers involved were both hospitalized in stable condition.
