News: Woman dies of injuries after being struck by vehicle in Independence

INDEPENDENCE, MO – Police released an update on a pedestrian accident that occurred in Independence last week, saying that one of the victims has died of her injuries.

 

According to a report by WDAF, the incident happened Wednesday afternoon in the vicinity of Missouri 78 Highway and Savage Street.

 

An investigation indicated that the driver of a 2017 Ram 2500 was turning east onto Missouri 78 at about 12:30 p.m. and collided with two pedestrians.

 

Both were taken to the hospital, where one of the victims later died. She has been identified as 40-year-old Nicole Robbins of Independence. The other pedestrian was treated and released from the hospital.

 

The Ram driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
