LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – Police were at the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in Lee’s Summit on Wednesday night.
According to the Kansas City Star, officers responded to the Fairfield Inn on NE Windsor Driver after being notified of the incident at about 7:15 p.m.
The investigation indicated that a driver had struck a female pedestrian who was standing in the parking lot beside the hotel. The 21-year-old victim was pinned against the building and died later after being taken to an area hospital. She was identified by police as Sandrea N. Sipple, of Kansas City, Kansas.
According to police, the driver cooperated with investigators and apparently did not know the victim. Inspectors were checking the hotel after the accident for structural damage.
