BATES COUNTY, MO – A woman was killed when her all-terrain vehicle was involved in an accident in Bates County late Saturday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
In their crash report, state troopers identified the victim as 34-year-old Kayla D. Carroll of Butler, Missouri.
The MSHP said Carroll was driving a 2015 Polaris ATV on NW 7001 Road south of Missouri Highway 52 when the incident occurred at about 11:41 p.m. The vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a fence and overturned. Carroll was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a safety device at the time, according to state troopers.
