KANSAS CITY, MO – State troopers said an accident in Clay County Friday night left one person dead and two others injured, according to WDAF.
The fatal wreck occurred on Interstate 435 north in the village of Claycomo at about 8:10 p.m.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s investigation found that the driver of a Jeep Wrangler drove off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. The impact sent the Jeep across the road into a concrete wall. It then flipped and was struck by a northbound Dodge Journey.
The driver of the Jeep, identified as 53-year-old Julie Groce of Kansas City, Missouri, was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital.
The Dodge driver, a 40-year-old man, sustained moderate injuries while his passenger, a 15-year-old boy, was seriously injured.
