KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police are searching for a truck driver who left the scene after hitting and injuring a teenager Wednesday night, WDAF reports.

The accident happened in the area of Interstate 29 and Northwest 72nd Street, where the victim was walking in a construction zone at about 9:30 p.m.

Police said the pedestrian was struck by a semi-truck heading south on I-29.  The teen, who was reported to be over 15 years old, was listed in critical condition after being taken to an area hospital.
