CLAY COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said one person was injured in a highway collision in Clay County on Thursday morning.
According to the MSHP’s crash report, the crash occurred on southbound Interstate 35, about 300 feet before the 22.4 mile marker. Two vehicles were headed south on I-35, a 2003 BMW 325I and a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox.
State troopers said the driver of the Equinox, 71-year-old Jack Restivo of Kearney, Missouri, rear-ended the BMW, driven by 32-year-old Roberto Mantilla of Kansas City.
A passenger in the BMW, 21-year-old Geizi Gonzalez Garcia of Kansas City, was transported by EMS to Liberty Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Garcia was wearing a seat belt at the time.
