News: Scooter rider dies of injuries sustained in Kansas City hit-and-run

KANSAS CITY, MO – A man has died of his injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding his scooter in Kansas City last month, police said.

 

This is an update to a previous story.

 

According to WDAF, the victim has been identified as 60-year-old Steven Khoury. Investigators said he was riding a scooter southbound on Prospect Avenue near 34th Street on May 30 when he was hit by a black SUV.

 

Khoury was hospitalized in critical condition and was pronounced dead on Sunday. Kansas City police have labelled it as a hit-and-run incident after the SUV driver fled the scene.

 

Police are continuing their investigation and asked anyone with further information to call the TIPS Hotline.
