PETTIS COUNTY, MO – Two people were injured following a two-vehicle collision in Pettis County on Wednesday morning, state troopers said.

According to an accident report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident took place on U.S. 50 at Pleasant Green Road.  The preliminary investigation determined that the driver of a 2023 Toyota Highlander was traveling south at about 7:30 a.m. and pulled into the path of a westbound 2007 Nissan Xterra.  The Nissan struck the left side of the Toyota and then overturned.

A passenger in the Toyota, an 86-year-old man from La Monte, Missouri, was seriously injured and transported to MU Medical.  The driver of the Nissan, a 46-year-old woman from Sunrise, Beach, Missouri, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Bothwell Hospital.  Both injured victims were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office assisted the MSHP at the scene.  Both vehicles were totaled and were towed away.
