KANSAS CITY, MO – Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident in Kansas City Monday morning that left a pedestrian critically injured, KSHB reports.
Police and rescue crews responded to the area of Topping Avenue and East 23rd Street after the accident happened sometime before 6:44 a.m. Investigators determined that a person wrapped in a blanket was walking west on 23rd Street and either fell down or lay down.
At that point, the pedestrian was struck by a gray Ford F-150 pickup heading west. The driver did not stop after the crash, according to police.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.
