INDEPENDENCE, MO – Police are trying to find the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run incident that occurred in Independence on Saturday.
The Kansas City Star reports officers were called to the area of Claremont Avenue and 24th Street at about 5:17 p.m.
An investigation determined that a male pedestrian was walking in the area and was struck by a vehicle. The victim died at the scene. There was no immediate word on his identity.
The driver involved in the collision fled the scene. Police are continuing to investigate the case.
