News: Parked SUV struck by speeding car in Hodge Park, injuring 2

KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people were injured when the parked car they were sitting in was struck by another vehicle in Kansas City, the Kansas City Star reports.

 

The accident happened Sunday night at Hodge Park at Northeast 96th Street and Northeast Reinking Road.  According to police, the driver of a Honda Accord was traveling through the parking lot of the park at a high rate of speed at about 10:30 p.m.  The Accord slammed into the side of a parked VW Tiguan SUV, causing it to overturn.

 

The driver of the VW suffered life-threatening injuries, while a passenger in the vehicle was seriously injured.  The Honda driver was not injured in the wreck.
