JACKSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a driver was killed when his car crashed on a highway ramp in Jackson County on Wednesday morning.
According to the MSHP’s accident report, the victim was identified as 57-year-old Timothy O’Brien of Oak Grove, Missouri.
State troopers said O’Brien was driving a 2003 Kia Optima on the ramp from eastbound Interstate 70 to Missouri 7 when the incident occurred at about 6:40 a.m. O’Brien drove off the right side of the roadway and his vehicle collided with a pole. He was pronounced dead after being transported to Centerpoint Medical Center.
The victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, troopers said.
