CASS COUNTY, MO – A multi-vehicle accident in Cass County Tuesday morning left three people injured, two seriously, state troopers said.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash log, the wreck happened on northbound Missouri 7, just north of Kirchner Road at 11:51 a.m.
An investigation determined that the driver of a 2022 Lexus SUV changed lanes in front of a 2004 International Harvester. The front of the Harvester struck the back of the Lexus. The driver of the Harvester then swerved to the left to avoid hitting the Lexus again. At the same time, the driver of a 2022 Chevrolet Blazer swerved to the left to avoid hitting the other vehicles, and struck the left side of the Harvester.
The driver of the Blazer, 68-year-old Larry Thompson, and a passenger, 84-year-old Patsy Beaty, suffered serious injuries and were taken to Golden Valley Hospital. Both are from Clinton, Missouri. The driver of the Lexus, 76-year-old Danny Bane of Plymouth, Minnesota, was transported to Cass Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
All three vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed away from the scene.
