LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – Police in Lee’s Summit said a motorcyclist was killed in an accident on US 50 Highway on Friday afternoon, the Lee’s Summit Tribune reports.
Police and emergency crews were called to the scene east of SW 3rd Street at about 3:30 p.m. after the incident was reported.
An investigation found that a motorcyclist heading east on US 50 Highway crashed into the back of a vehicle. The motorcycle rider was ejected from the bike and was hit by a passing vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries.
The man killed was identified as 44-year-old Daniel Dimas of Greenwood, Missouri. Traffic investigators with the Lee’s Summit Police Department are continuing to investigate the crash.
