News: Motorcyclist dies after colliding with vehicle on Interstate 435

KANSAS CITY, MO – One person was killed, and two others injured in a collision involving a motorcycle and two other vehicles in Kansas City, Missouri late Monday night.

According to a KMBC report, police responded to the southbound lanes of Interstate 435 near Bannister Road after being notified of the incident just before 11 p.m.

Kansas City police said the operator of a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling at a very high rate of speed while going south on I-435 and hit the rear corner of a Ford Edge.    The motorcyclist lost control of the bike, was ejected and hit a guardrail.  The motorcycle was then hit by a Toyota Sienna truck.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene.  The driver of the Toyota and a passenger sustained minor injuries, while the Ford driver was not injured.
