KANSAS CITY, MO – Police said a motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision with a car in Kansas City Saturday night.
KMBC reports the vehicles collided on 23rd Street. Investigators determined that the driver of a white Chrysler 300 was headed west in the left lane, and struck a Honda motorcycle that was on the double yellow lines between the east and westbound lanes. The Chrysler and the Honda crossed into the eastbound lanes, and the motorcycle went off the road.
The motorcycle rider was reported to have suffered life-threatening injuries, and was transported to an area hospital. The driver of the Chrysler was not injured.
The Kansas City Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash, which shut down 23rd Street in all directions for about 90 minutes.
