KANSAS CITY, MO – Police in Kansas City were called to the scene of a fatal motorcycle accident on Sunday night, according to WDAF.
The crash happened along the ramp from Interstate 670 eastbound to U.S. 71 Highway north. An investigation determined that the driver of a Yamaha motorcycle lost control while speeding on the ramp at about 10:30 p.m. The motorcycle hit a guardrail on the side of the road and the rider was thrown from the bike, landing in an embankment.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not released. No one else was injured in the crash.
Another motorist stopped to move the motorcycle out of the way so they could continue on the roadway, police said.
The ramp to north U.S. 71 Highway was shut down for about two hours while investigators and emergency crews were responding.
