News: Head-on crash in Kansas City leaves 1 dead, 5 injured

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police said a car and a minivan were involved in a deadly collision on Saturday morning.

 

The Kansas City Star reported details of the crash that occurred in the vicinity of Flora Avenue and 75th Street sometime before 8 a.m.

 

A police investigation indicated that the driver of a Mazda was speeding while traveling on 75th Street and crossed over the double yellow line. The Mazda collided head-on with a Toyota Sienna minivan.

 

The driver of the Mazda was declared dead at the scene.  The driver of the Toyota, a passenger in the front seat, and three children in the vehicle were all seriously injured and taken to an area hospital where they were listed in stable condition.

 

The investigation is continuing into the cause of the wreck.
