News: Head-on crash in Clay County leaves 2 drivers seriously injured

CLAY COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a collision in Clay County Thursday morning left both drivers seriously injured.

 

According to the MSHP’s crash report, the accident happened on Missouri 92 at Plattsburg Road shortly before 9 a.m.

 

State troopers said the driver of a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado was heading west and attempting to make a right hand turn onto Plattsburg Road when the vehicle was struck head-on by an eastbound 2014 Ford Focus.

 

The driver of the Chevrolet, 26-year-old Tyler Murphy of Kansas City, Missouri, and the driver of the Ford, 21-year-old Aiden Jackson of Liberty, Missouri, were both transported to Liberty Hospital for treatment.  Both were wearing their seat belts.

 

The two vehicles involved were totaled and towed away from the scene.
