News: Elderly woman critically injured after being struck in Kansas City hit-and-run

KANSAS CITY, MO – The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian critically injured.

 

According to KSHB, the victim was an elderly woman who was crossing Bennington Avenue Saturday morning at about 7:17 a.m.

 

Police said the pedestrian was in the northbound lane when she was hit by a red vehicle.  The driver left the scene without stopping to help and was last seen headed north on Bennington Avenue.  No description of the vehicle was immediately available.

 

The victim was hospitalized with what were described as critical injuries.
