News: Driver injured in rollover accident on Interstate 29

PLATTE COUNTY, MO – A driver was hospitalized after her car was involved in a collision in Platte County on Tuesday morning, state troopers said.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash log said the accident happened on Interstate 29 southbound at the 16.4 mile marker.

According to the MSHP, the driver of a 2019 international box truck was attempting to change lanes and struck a 2014 Buick Lacrosse. The Buick went off the left side of the roadway, hit a concrete culvert, and overturned. The car came to rest in the northbound lane of the interstate.

The driver of the Buick, 63-year-old Cheryl Cornett of Tracy, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Liberty Hospital. She was not wearing a seatbelt, troopers said. No other injuries were reported.
