News: Driver injured in collision after making improper turn on I-35

CLAY COUNTY, MO – A Kansas City, Missouri man was hospitalized following a crash on Interstate 35 early Wednesday morning, according to a KTTN report.

 

Authorities said 25-year-old Donovan L. Pearman was driving a 2001 BMW 740 at about 12:17 when he made an improper turn on I-35 south near Vivion Road.

 

The BMW was then struck on the side by a southbound 2014 Peterbilt 388 semi driven by 59-year-old Robert F. Nelson of Marceline, Missouri.

 

Pearson was taken to North Kansas City Hospital with serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, investigators said. Nelson was not injured and drove his truck away from the scene.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the incident with assistance from the Claycomo Police Department and Kansas City Police Department.
