News: Driver dies following wrong-way collision on I-35 in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police said a driver has died from injuries suffered in a wrong-way crash that occurred over the weekend, according to the Kansas City Star.

 

The accident happened on Interstate 35 near West 17th Street at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday.  Investigators determined that the driver of a gray Saturn was going in the wrong direction in the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Ford Fusion.

 

The driver of the Ford Fusion was pronounced dead Monday afternoon at an area hospital.  The other driver was also hospitalized, but no details were released on that person’s condition.

 

There were no other occupants in the two vehicles.
